When President Joe Biden addressed a joint session of Congress, at least one legislator present did not appear to be as engaging as the others.
More than an hour after the podium, Biden was discussing his administration’s immigration reform plans when cameras cut off Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, who seemed to be struggling to sleep.
“If you really want to solve a problem, I sent a bill. Take a close look at it, “said Biden, as the camera focused on Cruz, whose eyes were closed for a moment without opening them.
Twitter users quickly pointed to Cruz with sleepy eyes.
“When you dream of Cancun” Aaron Rupar tweeted, A Vox correspondent, citing a Cruz flight to Mexico in February, when Texas was hit by a winter storm, with severe power outages.
Democrat Republican Joaquin Castro, who is from Texas, also shared video on Twitter “Ted Snooze” caption.
